Tremendous Response In AndhraPradesh
“Save Journalism Day” call has received tremendous response in Andhra Pradesh today. Rallies, dharmas, meetings were organized across the state by APUWJ district units and affiliate press Clubs.
Memorandums were submitted to the District Collectors / Joint Collectors, and Tahsildars. Journalists carrying Bhagat Singh pictures ,holding banners ,play cards ,shouting slogans participated in the programs.
As per the information received by the APUWJ state leadership till this evening “Save Journalism Day” programs were conducted in Sixty (60) centers in Twenty three (23) districts. At Vijayawada Press Club a meeting was organized by the APUWJ state committee.
It was addressed by The IJU steering committee member Com Ambati Anjaneyulu , the President and General Secretary of APUWJ Com I.V. Subbarao, Com Chandu Janardhan.
At Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district a well attended meeting was organized. It was addressed by the IJU Secretary Com D. Soma Sunder. Senior trade union leaders from AITUC , CITU , ,and social activists from different organizations spoke and extended their support to the IJU call. At Srikakulam the NEC member Com Nalli Dharma Rao participated in the protest program.
Com M V Prasad , NEC member participated in the protest at Tirupati. A huge protest Rally was organized at Guntur in front of the Statue of Bhagat Singh. It is heartening to note that the protests were conducted at 15 centers In Kurnool district alone.
In West Godavari district protest programs were conducted in all Seven Assembly Constituency headquarter towns. The IJU call evoked tremendous Response from media fraternity.
